Okay, a new parking garage was suppose to be built 2 years ago. But that was put to the side. It was then decided to be funded with a government grant, but because of that, it will now be the last thing to be added in this long line of things being built. Is it me, or is everyone hurting when it comes to parking? Students, Faculty, and Staff. And I don't mean just looking for a parking spot either. I mean, look at all of the tickets that are being dished out as a result. I understand that people should be responsible for their own actions, but there is no where to park here on campus and the school's answer? Go park at the football field and we will shuttle you up. The shuttle is rarely on time and for those in a hurry, even when on time, that time is the wrong time. I feel our school's finances should have went into the new parking garage first.

I'm a day student, so I sort of feel the pain. I have an 8:00 class Monday through Thursday, so i get to school early enough. On Fridays I have a class at 9, so I get to school early enough to eat breakfast and get a spot. The only hitch was that today, I didn't have that 9:00 class, so I decided to sleep in until then. When I got on campus at 9:30, I was forced to park behind the baseball field behind Ezell. If you haven't taken that walk, go try it out. Especially when it's 20 degrees outside. ...Invigorating.

I am sure parking at the football field sucks. We used to have to park in the Granny White lot. But I don't understand the complaining about parking by the baseball field. I lived off campus both my Junior and Senior years and always had to park in that lot. This was prior to the softball field when it used to be one HUGE lot. No it wasn't fun parking by the soccer field but you either got to school early or park way out in BFE. To be honest you guys have it better than we did several years ago. I lived in 'Easy E' and our parking was nuts. There was never enough parking for the dorm and many times at night I had to park in the "day lot" and walk to the dorm. Never fun. However now that I am a bit older and wiser I can say...get to school earlier or be prepared to walk. That is life kids. Deal with it.

I understand how with construction and what not, parking may be restricted blah blah blah, but I honestly believe that if you live on campus, you should be guaranteed a spot. I mean, we're paying a hefty chunk of change to be living in these dorms. Can't I at least park in the same campus as my dorm?
Parking is tough all around, but Elam and Fanning bear the brunt of it. They literally took out our parking lot to build a new dorm, but they aren't making new spots for the Residential Village. ? So it's only going to get worse. And the garage they are building is quite possibly at the farthest point away from these 3 dorms as possible. I'm sure there is a good reason for putting it out there, but it's not going to solve parking with Elam, Fanning, and the Residential Village.

heh, in my day, i believe we called the space behind Ezell "Egypt," since it was so far away. yeah, it wasn't too fun especially during colder days, and especially if you're from Florida and your blood is thin. don't seniors still get a spot (when i was there they were marked with a big ol' S)? sucks if you're not a senior though.
